The pickle ball courts are open! Want to play but do not have a racquet? Berkeley Park District and the Berkeley Public Library have partnered together so that you are able to check out a pair of pickle ball racquets with 2 balls at the library. No charge.
New to Pickleball or have played a few times and want to learn more? Then this program is for you! Pickleball lessons will be held weekly in the form of a 3 day class (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). This 3 day class is enough to get you up and enjoying Pickleball, but if you would like more instruction you can sign up for another week of class.
Classes are offered in the morning (9:00 am - 10:30 am) or the evening (6:00 pm - 7:30 pm) each week. (The first week, May 8-10, class will meet from 6:30-8:00 pm). Classes are $25 per week, but register for as many weeks as you'd like!
Registration is required by the Tuesday prior to each new week. A minimum of 4 participants is required for the class. If the minimum is not met for a particular week then you may register for the following week.
Weekly registration through June 7 can be found by clicking here.
Grab a friend and join us for this free event at Lind Park on June 2 from 4:00-5:15 pm! Our Music Together instructor Mimi Black will lead parents and their young children (ages 0-4) in a summer-themed program filled with family singing, dancing, and assorted silliness. After singing, we will do a craft and color a picture. Refreshments will also be provided.
While this event is free, registration is required. Please register by clicking here.

The next session of Music Together begins on Thursday, June 22 at 9:00 am! (PLEASE NOTE THE NEW TIME!) Sign up before June 3 and you will pay the Earlybird rate of $75 per family! The cornerstone of the Music Together® program is our Mixed-Age music class, for children from birth through age 5—and the grownups who love them! Each week, a trained Music Together teacher leads the class in singing, dancing, and playing songs that range from tender lullabies to boisterous jams using childfriendly percussion instruments. Our award-winning music, illustrated songbook, and other print and online resources will help you continue the music-making fun at home and nurture your child’s musical growth—even if you don’t think of yourself as a great singer or dancer. Like parenting, making music requires no previous experience or expertise, just a willingness to get down on the floor and get silly with your child!
Kidcreate Studio's award-winning art classes allow kids to explore art in an environment full of giggles and grins. Kids create fridge worthy masterpieces while learning art concepts and experimenting with different art materials. The curriculum is age-appropriate and designed to inspire. Classes provide a fun, self-esteem building atmosphere full of "I did it" moments.

On Saturday January 8, the Berkeley Park District hosted an Open House to discuss Berkeley Park improvements. The Park District has been working hard gathering information and getting input from the community. We put all that information together to give an overview and share what we have assembled.
